A friend suggested these two yarns would make a good Jared Flood style striped scarf. I thought it would be fun to turn it on the bias and then use garter stitch (which used to be my least favourite stitch, but worked on the bias, with fine yarn on needles 1-2 sizes bigger than for stockinette, it is my current favourite - like for Hitchhiker).
As I was knitting it my husband started to take interest (unusual, because he's fairly immune to knitwear as a result of overexposure). I let him try it on and the colours suited him.
So I finished it last night - hoping he'll get to wear it once or twice before it's time to stow the winter woolies (lavender and/or cedar balls).

ReplyDeleteI think our daughter thinks so too, because she's been wearing it for the past two days. Will he ever get a scarf?
